Becoming a Member of ADIBC is simplicity itself. All you have to do is ask!
The person to ask is our Membership Secretary, Viv Greenaway who would be pleased to hear from you and answer any queries you may have.
We also have a Liaison Officer, John Stocker, who will help you to become acclimatised to our Club.
New bowlers or those with minimal experience are obliged to take part in a short course of Bowls instruction under the supervision of one or more of Arun’s qualified Coaches.
Membership options are available as follows to suit your skill level, personal requirements or even age.
Full Members as the name implies, are entitled to participate, subject to vacancies or selection, in any of the Clubs Leagues, Competitions, Matches etc.
New Members who are also new bowlers are obliged to undergo a 6 week Arun Coaching course upon satisfactory completion of which they will be invited to become Full Members
Social Only Membership entitles you to take advantage of the Clubs Social activities and facilities. You would not be allowed to bowl.
Junior Membership is available to young people up to the age of 18. You will be given coaching by our qualified Coaches who can also give you playing times. The Clubs Social facilities and activities are also available to you.
Summer Bowls Membership is for those Members who wish to play Indoor bowls throughout the year. During the Summer a limited programme of bowls operates daily (except Saturdays).
Summer Bowls at the Arun is still very much in its infancy but is proving to be popular.
What Does Membership Cost?
Basically each grade consists of a one off Entrance Fee (EF) plus an Annual Subscription (AS).
Full Membership £50 EF + £60 AS
New Members undergoing Coaching £25 Coaching Fee. Upon satisfactory completion of the Coaching course to become a Full Member the normal £50 EF + £60 AS is payable less the £25 Coaching fee already paid, in effect the Coaching course is free to those that become Full Members
Social Only Membership £15 EF + £15 AS
Summer Bowls Membership is £15 AS but is only available to Full Members
Junior Membership is £5 EF + £10 AS
